Ubisoft has confirmed that we could finally be getting a new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon game, at some point.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series is one of Ubisoft’s oldest and most popular properties, with the first entry releasing in 2001 on PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube.
Each game in the series offers fun, high-octane action with a large dose of strategy. For the most part, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon has put out banger after banger, except recently.
For many fans, the two Advanced Warfare instalments, released in 2006 and 2007 respectively, as well as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (2012), may be considered amongst the best the series has to offer.

Sadly, the last game in the series was far from its best, and that’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint (2019), a game that launched in such a buggy state that it was the breaking point for even the most loyal of fans.
Many feared that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint was so damaging to the series that it would kill the franchise. Thankfully, as reported by Push Square (via Game File), that no longer seems to be the case.
During a recent meeting with shareholders, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot stated that the company will be “capitalising on upcoming launches, such as The Division and Ghost Recon.”
Ubisoft CFO, Frederick Duguet, added, “Ghost Recon is just one example, for our first-person-shooter-type-games.”

As great news as it is, knowing that Ubisoft hasn't forgotten the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series, this is by no means an official announcement. It’s just an acknowledgement that it’s in the minds of the company.
There’s every chance that the next Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon hasn't started its development, but when we learn more, we’ll be sure to update you right away.
Hopefully, when the next game arrives, it will do the series justice it deserves and won't be another flop.
