The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is set to celebrate a full decade and a half out in the wild next year and it's difficult to overstate just how significant of a game it has been in the wider RPG landscape since then.
Though we've all explored basically everything the base game has to offer these days, the game's extensive modding community continues to release new content for us to get stuck in to, and the game really is just as healthy as ever in that respect.
Those include everything from new questlines to complete overhauls and expansion sized story mods, all of which are available at no extra cost to the player. Equally, there are a ton of visual mods that give the game a whole new look, including some which try to replicate other beautiful art styles from other animations and games.
It's one of those which bring us here today, as a modder has managed to transform Skyrim in the style of beloved animation company Studio Ghibli.

A Ghibli Skyrim is a Unique Visual Mod for Bethesda RPG
Over on Nexus Mods, you can find a recent addition to the pantheon of visual mods for Skyrim, in A Ghibli Skyrim - Landscapes A.I.O.
The mod itself is described as "a new look for Skyrim landscapes," with Studio Ghibli-inspired texture replacements, as well as some additional Ghibli assets that serve as little references and Easter eggs for fans.
The changes the mod makes includes complex materials 2K landscape textures, compatible Majestic Landscapes and ERM for terrain. Vanilla trees have been retextured in 2K resolution, while complex Vanilla grass has been retextured in 1K.
Plants, mountains, dirt cliffs, roads and bridges have all had similar treatment, so you should find that the mod adds a ton of fidelity to your game.
Happily, it works on what is essentially a vanilla game, though you will need Community Shaders or an ENB (graphics framework).
This landscapes all-in-one is a great start if you want to get your game looking as Ghibli as possible, but happily it's part of a wider and ongoing series in which the developer seems to be gradually changing the whole region.
At the time of writing, A Ghibli Skyrim - Whiterun is also out in the wild, and they are currently working on doing the same for all the farmhouses in the game, which you'll remember are extremely numerous.
