We've been hit by delay after delay over the past two years - it's been non-stop. Films we're excited to see have been postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, which means we've been waiting a long time to see the characters we know and love once again. However, just this once, a movie release has been moved up and fans are delighted.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is on its way to cinemas on October 1st, 2021 so save the date. The second Venom film was originally delayed along with most other movies, but with Marvel's newest release Shang-Chi doing so well, Sony has seemingly decided that it was worth bringing forward Let There Be Carnage's release date.
Here is the Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer...
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings surpassed many expectations with its release. In fact, it wasn't just well-received by critics and fans, its September 3rd release broke box office records. It broke the Labor Day record with $83.5 million made over four days - the previous holder of this title was 2007's Halloween which made $30 million according to GamesRadar+. The film's success shows that people are ready to return to cinemas finally.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is exciting for wider reasons though, as Spider-Man No Way Home is set to release in December. Though there is no indication that these two universes will have anything to do with one another, No Way Home is going to feature old Spidey enemies and fans want Venom to be part of it. Of course, we don't know if that's even possible contractually but fans want what they want, and the rivalry between Spider-Man and Venom is iconic.
