The 'Far Cry 6' Map Is Absolutely Massive, Take A Look At It Here

Is it maybe a little too big?

I recently spent a good few hours with Far Cry 6, and I can confirm that it is very much, as Ubisoft has been saying, the biggest Far Cry game by some distance.

For those that haven't been paying attention, Far Cry 6 is set in the fictional country of Yara. This beautiful but dangerous land is made up of various regions, each of which will be packed with things to do, people to see, and enemies to shoot. If I'm being honest, I have some concerns that the game might be a little too big for it's own good - but I'll obviously have to reserve that judgement until I've spent more time with the game and all of its regions.

You can take a look at the Far Cry 6 in-game map in the below video around the 2:20 mark.

As you can see in the video above, or via the below image for a more comprehensive look (thanks, GamesRadar) Far Cry 6 is made up of four key regions: Madrugda, Esperanza, Valle De Oro, and El Este. There's also the tutorial island, Isla Santuario, where you'll start the game and learn the basics. This is where I spent most of my time during the preview, but even this relatively small starter location is actually pretty damn huge.

The image below also shows off the allies and enemies in each region you'll meet. The blue photos are allies you need to enlist to join your cause. The red are the powerful leaders you need to take down to weaken Anton Castillo's regime. It's the same approach Ubisoft took with Far Cry 5 and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands. It's formulaic, but people seem to dig it. Let's just hope it hasn't started to outstay its welcome by the time Far Cry 6 launches.
