This mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim transforms over 3,000 NPCs in the world to make them look like they've stepped onto the set of Love Island: Tamriel.

Modder Zalroth explains that it's not just the named characters and quest givers that populate the towns, colleges, barracks and more that have been given the makeover of a lifetime. Bandits, soldiers, thieves and other randoms also learned what a "skincare routine" is and drink a lot more water now instead of ale and skooma.

On the whole, the mod appears to have introduced the denizens of the realm to the concept of hygiene. They wash frequently (with soap) and have gotten their hands on some hair styling products that have surely come along on some shipments from Elsweyr.

Announced last week, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. If you'd like a whistle stop tour of the fantasy world ahead of the launch in November, check out our very serious video below.

"I'm truly blown away. Very fantastic work... hope to see more of what you do in the future!" said one player. I mean, Tolfdir now looks like the coolest grandad ever rather than the undefeated winner of the College of Winterhold's cheese-eating competition. I'm sorry. I know Tolfdir is a good guy but the difference is unbelievable.

The mod is a doozy for those who want to change the look of NPCs but don't want to bloat their PC with more mods than they can count. Moreover, the facial structure of the NPCs has been semi-randomised through a script so every player's Aela, Farkas, Vilkas and so on will look different.

As impressive as the mod is in its scale, I'm hoping that Bethesda doesn't take this approach with The Elder Scrolls VI. Yes, the characters of Skyrim appear to have been dragged through a bush backwards and forwards and backwards again. But, it's a tough life to lead. Dragons are back. Vampires and werewolves walk among the populace. A sweet roll is the only joy they have. It checks out that contouring is rather low down on their list of priorities.
