Metro 2033, one of the best video games of 2010 (yes I said it) is free to download on Steam right now. For the low, low price of nothing at all, you can get your hands 4A Games' gritty, horrifying, and surprisingly moving post-apocalyptic shooter.

You have until March 15 to claim Metro 2033, so you might want to head here now and hop to it. It's not like you have to play it right away, just add it to your library. That constantly growing library of games that you'll probably never get around to playing. It's all part of being a gamer.

For those that have never played a Metro game, Metro 2033 is a first-person shooter/survival horror set in the year... well, you can probably guess. Set in a post apocalyptic Moscow, the game takes us underground as we explore the lives and struggles of the humans who retreated from nuclear Armageddon to start a new life in the city's subway network.

Naturally in the time that the humans have been hiding out underground, the world above has produced some pretty nasty monsters. It's up to you to navigate the tunnels and wastelands of Moscow to fight off these creatures and save the day.

"You are Artyom," the Steam description explains. "Born in the last days before the fire, but raised Underground. Having never ventured beyond your Metro Station-City limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat. Your journey takes you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of mankind."

It's a great game, okay? Just trust me. At this price, you literally have nothing to lose. Also, if you try it and realise you like it, the rest of the Metro franchise is massively discounted until March 15. 2013's Metro Last Light Redux is just £3, while 2018's stunning Metro Exodus is just under £12. Those right there are some spicy bargains, my friends.
