Eagle-eyed Grand Theft Auto fans appear to have uncovered yet another clue that would suggest the long-running GTA VI rumours regarding Vice City and Project Americas are true.

For those who haven't really been paying attention, the last few years have thrown up a ton of GTA VI theories and rumours ranging from the plausible to the downright bizarre. Out of all of these rumours, however, three pop up far more frequently than most.

The first - and most prominent by far - is that the game will feature a female protagonist for the first time in the series' history. The second suggests that the upcoming game will take players back to Vice City, something that multiple Easter eggs and teases seem to have pointed towards. The third and final "Big" rumour is that a big part of the game will also be set in South America, and have players travelling between Vice City and South America as they establish a criminal empire.

Rockstar Games is a famously tight-lipped company of course, and we'll have no way of knowing for sure how much of any of this is true until the studio finally decides it's time to lift the lid on GTA VI. Still, a recently updated website owned by Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive has gotten fans very excited that the Vice City and Project Americas rumours might just be closer to the truth than first thought.

As spotted by GTA 6 News on Twitter, Take-Two recently updated the domain for Rockstarcartel. Players believe this is a direct reference to the rumours that the Cartel will come in to play as part of GTA VI's story, which is rumoured to involve smuggling drugs between South America and Miami - Vice City, to be precise. Interestingly, the Rockstarcartel domain was first registered in 2002, the year Vice City released.

Much of this could be fans simply connecting dots that don't actually exist, but it certainly seems suspect. It's also worth noting that Take-Two updated the domains for GTA VI and Vice City last year, so it could well be that something is afoot.

While alleged insiders have recently claimed that the rumours regarding a female protagonist, Project Americas, and Vice City are all true, all we really know for now is that Grand Theft Auto VI is in development, and that it'll be a single-player focused experience. As for release date, plot, and virtually everything else? We'll just have to wait and see.
