Call Of Duty 2020 Website Spins Into Action With Cryptic Note

All Chillied Up

As a lot of you are very aware, we are deep into the part of the year that can only be called New Call Of Duty Teaser Territory Where We All Go A Bit Silly Over The Slightest Thing. Just the other day we witnessed some crates being opened and projector slides pointed at walls, which showed a series of locations and numbers and stuff.

After that, clever folks managed to work out that there was a specific URL to click to, namely pawntakespawn dot com. Chess moves, eh... whatever could it mean? Probably something more subtle than big guns and bleeding out all over the place. But CoD being CoD, whatever Call of Duty 2020 brings us, it'll also bring us that.

And if all of that passed you by, please - watch this video, and then come back to these words, cheers.

Back in the room? Then I shall continue. Said website, pawntakespawn, is now displaying another tease in the form of a letter, posted at /tangledweb, as picked up by

You can see the letter in the screengrab below - but I guess I'll write it all out for you, after the screen, just to save your eyes the effort. I'm nice like that. The content of it positively screams all manner of Cold War scheming, doesn't it? Yes, it does.

Here we go, then:

Wars are not won just on the battlefield, but behind closed doors.

Tactics. Maneuvers. Strategies.

All pieces of a complex puzzle that means the difference between life and death -
conquering or being conquered.

Codes. Signals. Ciphers.

Secret communications used by enemies and allies for thousands of years.

The plot unfolding now is decades in the making. It will not be unravelled overnight.

While some battles can be won swiftly, others will take days to unfold.

You have found the first piece of many.
Relish the journey. It's all part of the game.

The spoils of victory come not to those in haste, but to those who know -

"Every battle is won before it is ever fought."

Know your history.

Cold War, innit. Gotta be. And the above reads like the very definition of black ops, too. But we'll find out soon enough, for sure. Find loads more Call of Duty content on these very pages, just over here.
