Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 voted greatest COD of all time

Call of Duty players have come together to vote on what they believe is the best game of the franchise. After a voting period over on Reddit, Black Ops 2 was crowned the winner and is seen as the best.

It’s no surprise really that many players have a fondness for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, it’s a game that was successful upon release but one that found a lot of players later down the line. The top three, chosen after 479 people voted, saw the original Black Ops in second place with Modern Warfare 2 (2009) in third.

An interesting opinion that spawned in the thread was many people are coming to the defence of Infinite Warfare, the futuristic installment that seemingly divides players constantly. Several people jump in with mentions of the game with one user saying “Man it’s a shame about IW not being higher up. It’s a great COD. Top 5 COD for me. I’d rank it number 3 most times.”

Black Ops 2, released in 2012, received praise from both fans and critics alike. The game was seen as a step forward for the multiplayer aspects, including the Zombies mode, but it was also lauded for having a less linear story that ended with several different endings. The game was a huge success for Activision earning over $500 million within the first 24 hours of sale.

Featuring some of the most polished gameplay, the multiplayer of Black Ops 2 was incredibly balanced and allowed both newcomers and franchise veterans to feel comfortable. Speaking to many Call of Duty fans, you’ll find that most will hold Black Ops 2 in high regard, and it’s always in the conversation of titles the community wishes would be remastered. Maybe one day, as the state of the series is currently quite muddled for many players.
