If you have ever wondered what The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would look like in the world of Skyrim, then wonder no more as this upcoming remake will blow you away.

Skyblivion is an upcoming fan remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in Skyrim. Set to release some time in 2025, the team recently gave eager fans an update on how the project is coming along.

In the recent video update, the developers showcased Skyblivion’s gameplay system, the world map and even a peek at a new city and dungeons.

As you can expect, the real star of the show is how well the mod has combined the look of both Oblivion and Skyrim.

With Oblivion being released back in 2006 and Skyrim in 2011, it is safe to say that the Bethesda titles are somewhat outdated by today’s standards so managing to capture the magic of both is an impressive feat indeed.

This is perhaps unsurprising considering Skyblivion’s aim. The website says: “We aim to bring The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to a new generation of gamers and re-introduce it to long time fans of the series.

We are currently in the process of porting and rebuilding Cyrodiil along with all of its quests, locations and characters into Skyrim and Skyrim: Special Edition.”

When the remake is released, players will be able to customise their games with the choice to decide which features they want to install. For example, those interested in both gameplay and decorating can also install landscaping, interiors and city improvement features.

Until then, the fan-made project is still deep in development with Skyblivion expecting to drop some time next year. However, with such a dedicated team behind it, it is no doubt that this remake will capture the game’s original magic.
