Tom Holland's Spider-Man may be teaming up with the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if a wild new rumour is to be believed.
The two iconic franchises have never been able to meet on the big-screen before. The movie rights to Spidey belong to Sony, and Fox previously had a hold on the X-Men. But following Disney's historic Fox acquisition, the Marvel mutants can now come play in the MCU.

Spider-Man still lives with Sony, of course, but a partnership with Marvel Studios has already seen the wall-crawler appear in a number of MCU movies - with more on the horizon. One of those, it transpires, could just be the X-Men team-up fans have been dying to see.

According to Geekosity, Sony and Disney are in talks to bring Spidey together with the X-Men for an epic adventure. There aren't many more details to go on beyond that right now, sadly.
My advice for right now would be to take this with a massive pinch of salt. Geekosity has proved accurate in the past, but is more often than not way off-base when it comes to comic book movies. The only reason we're addressing this rumour is because Spider-Man teaming up with the X-Men on the big-screen is possible in a way it wasn't even just a few years ago.
Between Loki having recently established the multiverse and Deadpool - previously of the Fox X-Men universe - joining the MCU, it's clear that Marvel has some unexpected cameos and team-ups in store. Heck, if Tom Holland really is going to team up with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home as rumoured, I certainly wouldn't put it past Disney to have an X-Men collaboration in the works too. If nothing else, a movie like that would make an unimaginable amount of money, right?
