Gamers have been blown away by the high-quality titles that have come out this year, marking 2023 as a great year for single-player gaming.

As the end of the year approaches, and everyone starts thinking about which game will be crowned Game Of The Year, many have looked back on the extraordinary games that have been released so far.

There have been some phenomenal AAA releases across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and PC platforms, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, Sea of Stars and many, many more.

There’s seemingly been something for everyone, but no one has lucked out more than players who favour a good old-fashioned single-player game. Plenty of others are on the horizon too, like the Super Mario RPG remake, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Expansion.

That’s not to say there haven’t been some solid multiplayer titles as well, but you can’t deny that 2023 has been a brilliant year for those who want to follow a good story away from the hustle and bustle of online servers.

Reddit user scarletandsophia certainly believes so, saying: “Kind of satisfying seeing this year being dominated by single-player titles with Baldurs Gate, Starfield, Phantom Liberty, etc. after various gaming companies spent years trying to psyop people into thinking they're not worth playing.”

Fans agreed, saying that while single-player games have always been popular, 2023 has housed some incredible titles so far.

“Kinda crazy you ain’t name Zelda but agree nonetheless”

“Jrpgs are having the best year they've had maybe since the 90s.”

“Single-player gamers unite.”

It’s hard to believe that we’re still not done with the big releases for this year, and with award season coming up, you can bet the competition is going to be high.
