Game Of Thrones Unreal Engine 5 RPG trailer has us drooling

It is safe to say that many fans believe that HBO’s Game of Thrones could have ended slightly better. However, as viewers, there is not much we can do to change it but as players, our actions would definitely have a say.

Although a game based on Game of Thrones is not on the cards (at least that we know of), it doesn’t have to stop us hoping for one. You only have to close your eyes to imagine what it could be like with an open-world inspired by the likes of Elden Ring and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, with dragons flying overhead and the battle for the Iron Throne in full swing.

Check out the trailer for the upcoming second season of House of the Dragon below!

Luckily for us, Youtuber TeaserPlay has us covered for now by creating a concept trailer for an open-world Game of Thrones RPG in Unreal Engine 5.

“Have you ever considered a Game of Thrones video game?” asks TeaserPlay. “Undoubtedly all the gamers who saw that show imagined the game. We tried to make this dream a reality with the help of the most advanced Unreal Engine features such as ray tracing, screen space reflections, Lumen, Nanite, hope you enjoy!”

The trailer shows just under 2-minutes of stunning footage allowing us a glimpse at some of our favourite characters such as Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister and Sansa Stark who look scarily accurate in Unreal Engine 5. We also get a glimpse of Daenerys’ dragons as well as the snow-torn land of Winterfell and even the Throne Room where the infamous yet ominous Iron Throne sits.

With the Game of Thrones series taking us across a large area of the map, we can only imagine how large-scale a potential video game adaptation would be. However, thanks to this fan-made trailer, we can perhaps start to imagine it.
