Free-to-play titles continue to be one of the most lucrative business models in the video game industry, largely due to the microtransaction formula.

Well, when I say “microtransaction”, over time that word lost its original definition because a lot of microtransactions are far removed from being anything but micro. At the forefront of the free-to-play leaderboard in the video game industry is none other than Fortnite from Epic Games.

Recently Fortnite players have been enjoying the return of the OG map and with that also comes returning skins, weapons, vehicles, and more. Other than its regular drops of content updates to keep fans engaged, eager players are always looking to acquire the latest cosmetic luxuries from the in-game shop. With that in mind, the returning OG map has also seen the return of one of Fortnite’s rarest skins to the surprise of its community.

The rare skin in question is Marvel’s Black Widow outfit which is the first time the skin has been available in the Fortnite shop since 2019 during the release of Avengers: Infinity War. What’s more, Black Widow’s Pirouette emote also makes a return.

“OG BLACK WIDOW HAS RETURNED OMG,” tweeted Twitter user ShiinaBR surprised to see the returning Natasha Romanoff cosmetic. “Well, my rarest Marvel skin is… no longer. I’m happy people will get to use it tho,” replied beastedassassin. “WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT,” said a very enthusiastic EgirlCharlotte.

Fellow Fortnite players are also eager to see the return of other classic rare skins. Given the fact that Epic Games re-released the Black Widow skin, if there was a previous cosmetic that you missed out on, it might just make a triumphant return very soon.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
