Epic Games has officially confirmed that Fortnite's no-build mode is to become a permanent fixture in the battle royale.
As part of an update released earlier this month, Epic Games removed building - probably the one thing that makes Fortnite what it is - from the game.
The reaction so far has been hugely positive, with thousands of lapsed players coming back to the game knowing that they can enjoy it as a simple shooter without having to worry about the game's building mechanics.

Some, of course, are making the argument that if you can't play Fortnite without being able to build then you shouldn't be playing Fortnite. But those people are boring fun vampires that never get invited to Birthday parties, so what do they know?
In light of the mode's huge popularity, it's perhaps not a massive surprise that Epic has decided to keep it around. The all-new Zero Build mode does exactly what it says on the tin: offers Fortnite players a way to experience the battle royale with absolutely no building whatsoever. Instead, you'll be forced to rely on your wits - and the arsenal you collect as the circle starts to shrink.
"Without building, all players have the recharging Overshield as your first line of defense in Zero Build," Epic writes. "Zip up Ascenders to access Blimps or use Mantling to get the high-ground over your opponents.”
Zero Build is available to play right now, and supports Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads. Plenty of options for the players who could never quite get their head around building (like me).
