Assets from Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 may have just been leaked, hinting at a potential reveal in the coming months.
With Final Fantasy 7 Remake releasing in 2020, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in early 2024, it’s about now that we should be hearing more about the third and final instalment in the trilogy.
Small teasers regarding the third part, which is still officially untitled, have been made over the past few months. But nothing concrete has been confirmed just yet.
A new leak has just surfaced, which may hint at a possible location that’ll appear in the game. It also hints at the third part’s title, which has gone unconfirmed up to this point. Of course, take this with a pinch of salt right now until we get official confirmation.

Appearing in places like Reddit and 4chan, the leaked image shows a title card for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, which is apparently called “Return”.
The image also shows a town location, but it isn’t exactly clear where it might be. We can make an educated guess based on some clues in the image though.
There are quite a lot of buildings and NPCs standing around, as well what seems to be a large structure in the centre of the town.
It’s hard to see what it is exactly, but it could be the large Shinra rocket launch pad which appears in Rocket Town, a key location from the final part of Final Fantasy 7 which hasn't appeared in the remake games yet.

Given how iconic Rocket Town is in the original Final Fantasy 7, it makes sense that this would feature quite heavily in promotional material for the upcoming remake sequel.
As I said, take this with a heavy grain of salt for the time being. An official reveal of the game has not yet been announced, though we wouldn’t be surprised if it were this year.
Some signs have hinted at a potential reveal later in the year, which would track if the game is allegedly targeting a similar release timeline as Rebirth did.
Rebirth was announced in June 2022, around a year and a half before its release, so if a late 2027 or early 2028 release for the third part is on the cards, we’d expect to see something at Summer Game Fest or Gamescom.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is expected to close out the trilogy that started with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and was continued with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Although some plot details were changed to suit the game’s longer format, the basic plot and premise remain the same. You play as Cloud Strife, a mercenary who joins the eco-terrorist group known as AVALANCHE, which is trying to stop the megacorporation Shinra from using the planet's life essence as an energy source.
