Final Fantasy producer Naoki Hamaguchi has given a large update on Part 3, teasing some of the content being added.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will have a different title, of course, in keeping with the Remake/Rebirth titles that the previous two games had. However, fans have taken to calling it Part 3 for the time being until an official reveal takes place.
Speaking to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Hamaguchi teased some locations and story beats that will be added with Final Fantasy Remake Part 3.
In a series of quick-fire questions, Hamaguchi teased that several key locations from the second half of the original Final Fantasy 7 would appear in the upcoming Part 3.
What To Expect In Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3
Hamaguchi confirmed that Rocket Town will appear in the game, which was initially left up to question due to its absence from Rebirth.

Additionally, Wutai is also confirmed to appear, and it’s “one of the main locations” with Yuffie in particular making “a very prominent appearance, stating her case about her homeland”. Hamaguchi adds that “if Wutai’s not featured, I think the fans are going to yell at me”.

Meanwhile, the Highwind is also confirmed to appear in the game, with Hamaguchi saying it’s “a very large part of the third installment”.
The Highwind was the player’s airship that appeared at the start of the original game’s third act, allowing you to fly anywhere on the world map and land on open plains. It’s a key part of that final part of the game, so it’s good to hear it’ll still appear here.
It also sounds like Chocobo breeding will be changed slightly in Part 3, with Hamaguchi unable to “say yay or nay on the actual breeding”. However, he does say that the third part will have an element involving Chocobos which is a little different from Rebirth.
Finally, Hamaguchi has also teased how the third installment may open, with Icicle Inn and the Great Glacier area being present for the game’s opening hours just as they were placed at the end of the original’s second act.
There’s no knowledge of when Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be released, but it’s been in development since the release of Rebirth.
However, Hamaguchi did tell Bloomberg that “I’m hoping it’s not going to be too far in the future”, and that it’s expected to be revealed later this year.
