Fans of Far Cry Primal and Assassin’s Creed should check out an upcoming sandbox survival game which is available to try out for free right now.

Soulmask is an upcoming sandbox title “that prioritises an authentic survival experience” from the developers at CampFire Studio. Players will find themselves awaking and fleeing after a deadly sacrificial ritual and on their journey, they will come across an ancient mystical mask. Upon adorning this mask, they will unlock potent knowledge that will change the very world they once knew.

Now faced with surviving nature itself, it is up to them to rally followers, build your very own tribe and explore and unravel the mysteries surrounding the ancient mask. With exploration elements reminiscent of Far Cry and combat much like that found in Assassin’s Creed, Soulmask has something for everything.

Expected to release some time later this year, Soulmask players can explore a “primitive land steeped in mysterious faiths” all whilst starting from the bottom. The world is yours to use at will but it is worth remembering that only the strong survive and you will share your space with many creatures, some which will be prey and others that will be predators.

Where do the remnants of these shattered civilisations come from?” asks the official synopsis. “Who created these grand and imposing ruins? Why do the colossal beast guardians possess such terrifying power? What secrets lie behind the abilities of your mask? The world awaits your exploration and discovery as you delve into its depths."

When you are not fighting to survive, you can recruit intelligent tribesmen, manage farming and other productions, master the game’s 58 combat styles and eight different weapon styles or even go head-to-head in Soulmask’s PvP mode.

If you can’t wait to get stuck in, a Soulmask demo is now available to download for free on Steam so make sure you don’t miss out on this upcoming MMORPG.
