If the innumerable leaks and insider rumours are to be believed, a remastered version of Fallout: New Vegas is indeed on its way, but when exactly can we expect it to drop?
That’s right, folks; a much-beloved 2010 entry in a long-running franchise is officially getting remastered… but enough about Red Dead Redemption.
Alright, jokes aside, much like the yet-to-be announced remaster of Red Dead Redemption II, Fallout: New Vegas Remastered may be up there as one of the worst-kept secrets in video game history.
Bethesda is obviously hard at work on finishing The Elder Scrolls VI, which will presumably be out at some point in 2045 at this rate, but the overwhelming success of Amazon’s Fallout TV series definitely caught them off guard last year.

Microsoft is clearly pushing for them to pivot somewhat in light of its success and shift their focus towards some Fallout-related projects, which undoubtedly resulted in them announcing both Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition and a tie-in expansion for Fallout 76.
However, it would seem, if the multitude of leakers are to be believed, that they’re not quite finished yet. Rumours about several new Fallout projects have been circulating for well over a year now, including a remaster/remake of Fallout 3, a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas, and even a follow-up to Fallout 4.

Rumblings of these projects properly began to pick up steam back in July this year, when VGC’s Jordan Middler revealed on the Friends Per Second podcast that “multiple” Fallout projects were currently “in development”.

“There are multiple Fallout projects in development, including as far as I'm aware, the one you've all been wanting… but it's not far enough along to make an announcement that people will be playing it any time soon”, Middler stated on the Friends Per Second podcast.
Since then, there have been far too many new leaks and rumours surrounding upcoming projects to feasibly collate into one article.
Thankfully (for me), the folks over at WCCF TECH have rounded up all of the recent news relating to the rumoured Fallout: New Vegas remaster.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that, much in the same way that Fallout 4 saw a huge boost in player count, the second season of Fallout is likely going to cause renewed interest in Fallout: New Vegas (considering the majority of the story is seemingly set in New Vegas).

Does that mean Bethesda and Obsidian are gearing up to announce something not long after the second season airs? Personally, I think that’s unlikely… but I do think there’s a solid chance that we’ll see Fallout: New Vegas Remastered sometime in 2026.
