Fallout: New Vegas is widely regarded as the best entry in the beloved Bethesda series but with the game being well over a decade old, it is in desperate need of a refresh.

First released back in 2010, Fallout: New Vegas has cemented itself as a modern classic and the one Fallout title which the most avid fans will recommend to you.

However, as mentioned, it is now quite outdated and it is no surprise considering how much technology has advanced in the past decade alone.

Although Bethesda is seemingly in no rush to release an official remaster, worry not as one dedicated creator has found a way to make Fallout: New Vegas look better than ever.

Modder ‘WestAard’ has recently released their FNV Texture Upscale Project over on Nexus Mods with the aim to upscale all of Fallout: New Vegas’ textures.

Coming in at 18gb to install, this is a must-have mod for those wanting to replay the Bethesda RPG without having to deal with those old-school graphics.

“After days of processing using a node-based upscaling program called chaiNNer, the mod is finally ready for release!” The creator wrote.

“It upscales textures 4x, so a 1K texture becomes 4K, and so on.

For those who want high resolution textures that adhere to the vanilla vision, or a pack to serve as a foundation for custom-made textures, this will work wonders.”

Right now, FNV Texture Upscale Project only works to upscale the base Fallout: New Vegas game but WestAard claims that they are currently working on doing the same for all DLC.

To help give users an idea of what the mod will achieve, there are multiple comparison screenshots to take a look at.

It is clear to see that the difference between 1K and 4K is astonishing and even works on the smallest of details such as cracks in the wall, marks on dirt roads and even the dust-soaked hotel walls.

We can see some of New Vegas’ iconic locations also get the remaster treatment and it is clear that this texture upscale project was a labour of love for the modder.

Despite FNV Texture Upscale Project only being uploaded to Nexus Mods last week, it has already achieved over 200 downloads so it is clear that Fallout: New Vegas fans are eager for the Bethesda title to receive modern-day treatment.

FNV Texture Upscale Project is free to download for all those who own Fallout: New Vegas on PC.
