I don’t know about you but it is pretty difficult not to get caught up in the Fallout hype right now. As a result of the hit Prime Video show and the subsequent revival of the RPG game series, everybody and their mum are talking about it.

However, one thing most Fallout veterans can agree on is how good Fallout: New Vegas was when it was released back in 2010. Although the game is quite outdated now, it still perfectly encapsulates the post-apocalyptic game setting but if you just want more, we have you covered.

Created by Thaiauxn on Nexus Mods, the Fallout: New California mod “adds an all new story, with voiced dialogue, a new world and multiple branching narrative paths”.

As an unofficial prequel to New Vegas, its synopsis reads: “In Fallout: New California you play as the kid from Vault 18. Orphan. Loner. Mutant. On the last big night of the Vault Ball season in 2260, you make a fateful decision that will change the course of your life -- and eventually the future of the New California Republic.”

Set in the heart of the Californian wasteland, you will face the new Republic as well as your typical Fallout villains as well as accessing SPECIAL dialog options, acquired PERKs and 8 possible companions who will travel alongside you.

With multiple main quests, side quests, radio stations, a whole new worldspace and a war to stop, this mod has hours of content and better yet, it is absolutely free.
