You might believe the Fallout community has it easy, but you’d be wrong. At least as far as they’re concerned.

Faced with the reality of Fallout 5’s launch date, the fandom is struggling to accept the arduous wait ahead of them.

While fans are rejoicing the return to New Vegas in TV set photos, they’re also disappointed that they have to wait at least a decade before they play a new Fallout title.

On the Fallout subreddit, DemiPyramid posted, “Me realising we won’t get Fallout 5 for another 10 years.”

It sounds like a long time but– okay, who are we kidding, it is a long time to wait for a video game.

If you're new to Fallout, you need to watch this

Unfortunately, longer development times are becoming the norm.

Not that the Fallout fandom is listening to reason right now.

Despite the OP stirring up old concerns, some are grateful that Bethesda is led by Todd Howard and not other individuals.

“Be glad Todd Howard isn't Gabe Newell...” remarked Xilvereight.

Another user joked, “Fable and Perfect Dark fans are staring at you with dead, depressed eyes right now.”

Although the Fallout community has suffered, many other fandoms have as well, and some for far longer.

Not that this is a competition.

But wait, there may be light at the end of this dark tunnel we find ourselves in: Microsoft.

It’s not often gamers see Microsoft as a saviour, but this is the world we live in now.

According to Syn4youSyn4me, the brand could hold the key to speeding up Fallout 5’s development.

“What might change things is Microsoft. I do not think they will sit on this for the next 10 years,” they reasoned.

This is a guessing game we don’t enjoy playing.

We can but hope that more information will be given in due time.

That said, The Elder Scrolls VI fandom has been waiting for so long it goes to show that devs won’t speed up just because you’re sulking.
