The mystery surrounding the development of Fallout 5 continues with Bethesda keeping information close to its chest.

This could mean one of two things: either development is coming along perfectly and Bethesda is just too deep into matters that it is holding out on updates or it is going terribly and we might not see Fallout 5 for many years to come.

Nevertheless, whichever option it is (or a secret third option), it has not stopped fans from speculating as to one important feature regarding Fallout 5.

Previous Fallout entries have taken players to various post-apocalyptic American states including Washington DC, Nevada, California, Appalachia and beyond and with Todd Howard previously stating that Fallout will never stray from the United States, it begs the question as to which state will make an appearance next.

With some fans suggesting that Fallout 5 could take place everywhere from Florida to Michigan, Louisiana to Alaska, there is one suggestion that has recently popped up and fans have been left feeling divided.

New Orleans?

Suggested by user jj33allen over on r/FalloutMemes alongside a mock-up of a potential title, they claim that it is 'the Fallout 5 that we all want'.

It was not long before fellow fans descended onto the comments with their own thoughts and it seems as though there is quite a mixed bag.

“I still want NYC; crawling across toppled skyscrapers, with the whole map being piles of decaying urban structures,” user ThyPotatoDrone suggested instead.

Could New York be a valid option?

“Also pizza-themed faction, deathclaws in the sewers, and the Mafia being a major faction.”

The same applied for user No-Foundation-129, albeit with a different state entirely.

“Would rather have one in Texas with hulking armored armadillos, morbidly obese ghouls, H-E-B settlements and oil rig fortresses,” they said.

For user pasta-hobo, they would be happy with the original suggestion and one of their own.

“I'd happily accept that, but I WANT a Fallout game set in Mexico!” They shared.

With every state in the sun having been mentioned at least once, it seems as though Bethesda has plenty of choices with fans ready for just about anything.

Hopefully it will not be much longer until we find out exactly where we are heading with the next and highly anticipated Fallout title.
