It has been an upsettingly long time since Bethesda decided to drop a major release for either the Elder Scrolls series or Fallout, and fans are really starting to get impatient for some news at the very least.
Todd Howard's recent interview with GQ confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI is still a long way away, though it may arrive very suddenly when the developer does decide to release it if they go with the Oblivion Remastered style shadow drop.
Fortunately, there is some good news for fans who are really starting to get sick of all this waiting. As confirmed by the good folks over at VGC, the developer is actively working on a remaster for Fallout 3 that will take a very similar form to the aforementioned Oblivion.
If they do go with the same style of remaster, we'll be getting Unreal Engine 5 visuals, and potentially some smaller changes to gameplay for the more archaic systems still in use back in 2008 when the game first released.

Fans Still Want The Elder Scrolls VI
A remaster of Fallout 3 is all well and good, it is a very good game after all, but fans still aren't happy with the seemingly very slow progress the developer is making on their favourite games.
In a post sharing the news of the remaster on Reddit, as well TESVI still be a very long way off, the community wasn't afraid to share their thoughts with a wider audience.

"Mind boggling that Bethesda owns two of the most popular video game franchises in the world, yet hasn’t released a main-line game in either franchise in 14 and 11 years, respectively. At this rate, I’d be surprised if we see either Fallout 5 or TES VI before 2030," one comment read.
"I don’t get why there aren’t two teams for these games. Especially after the MS acquisition I don’t see why resources don’t exist on this Earth to not have an Elder Scrolls and Fallout game simultaneously in development," another added.
A third resigned themselves to a very sad defeat, saying, "I’ve accepted this will probably be my last elder scrolls. I might see one more gta after 6 but Bethesda is getting out of hand with development time. If Skyrim came out in 2011 and now it’s 2025 with still no timeframe when will the next one come lol."
And it's absolutely fair enough to be somewhat despondent if you're a Bethesda fan at this point. With so long between games, it's very easy to get disheartened. Unfortunately, with no new game releases on the imminent horizon, we're just going to have to look elsewhere for our thrills.
