If you were looking for something new to play this weekend, the Epic Games Store is currently offering an emotional narrative adventure totally free, and it sounds like a real tear-jerker.

Facing a backlog of really long games can be a bit overwhelming sometimes, but at around two hours long, Epic Games’ latest freebie is short and sweet, and definitely worth your time. Adios is a cinematic first-person indie which puts you in the shoes of a pig farmer in Kansas, who’s made the decision to stand up to a mob which has been using the pigs on the farm to dispose of bodies.

Take a look at the trailer for Adios below.

“When your old friend - a hitman - arrives with his assistant to deliver another body, you finally screw up the courage to tell them that you're done,” the game’s synopsis reads. “Your friend doesn't want you to stop. He knows that there's no such thing as quitting, so he'll try to convince you that you're making a mistake. You spend the day together, doing chores and exploring the nooks and crannies of an authentic environment in the American Midwest alongside the man who will be forced to kill you, if he can't convince you to stay. How you respond will determine the rest of your life.”

Sounds interesting, right? Well, pretty much everyone who’s played it on Steam has noted how emotional of an experience it is, with countless testimonies from players who cried while playing it.

“A short, simple, yet very impactful experience that brought a genuine tear to my eye by the end. This is how you tell a freaking story, man,” estroBiologist wrote. “It's not long, but the story […] is well written, well voice acted, and the art style is fantastic. By the end of the experience I was a crying mess of emotions,” -L1ch said. “I played it for barely two hours and it made me cry,” stated Lorca Nomad.

Adios is free to download and keep from the Epic Games Store until 2 February. Once you’ve claimed it, you can play it any time.
