Fed up of waiting for an update on The Elder Scrolls VI? You may want to turn your attention to Crimson Desert instead.
This upcoming AAA open-world RPG from Pearl Abyss is promising a lot, to the point where the game’s mere existence almost feels too good to be true.
That being said, every snippet of gameplay dropped so far - and there have been many - have delivered on the game’s many promises.
Crimson Desert’s open-world promises to be twice as large as Skyrim’s with the map also being larger than Red Dead Redemption 2’s.

Players will take on the usual RPG fare, completing quests, facing off against enemies and bosses, and simply uncovering hidden secrets.
There are ridable dragons in the game, weird tech-controlled ruins, great flying contraptions, and bustling cities to explore … anything you can picture, Pearl Abyss has probably thrown it in.
The story centres around Kliff who’s determined to rebuild the Greymanes, a faction almost totally wiped out by the Black Bears.

“But on a journey where alliances are forged, dangers abound, and mysterious factions are uncovered, Kliff will come to realise that an unprecedented threat and a destiny greater than he imagined await him,” the synopsis teases.
I had the opportunity to go hands-on with the title several years ago at Gamescom and while the combat features too many sparking visual effects for my liking, I’ve got to say, my intrigue for Crimson Desert hasn’t waned.

It’ll launch on 19 March on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, retailing for £54.99 / $69.99 for the standard edition.
You can, however, nab the game for free via a new offer.
Grab a Free Copy of Crimson Desert With Select AMD Purchases, Available Worldwide
As spotted by PCGamesN, AMD is giving a copy of Crimson Desert away for free with selected Ryzen and Radeon products, so if you’re in the midst of upgrading your PC, you may as well nab yourself a free game.
There are multiple products included in this offer with the lowest coming in at around $440.
It’s not exclusively components either, as certain gaming laptops will also nab you a copy of Crimson Desert.
There are four eligible CPUs to choose from, two GPUs, and 16 laptops with ASUS, HP, Lenovo, and AMD amongst the brands represented.
The offer runs until 25 April and you’ll need to claim the free game by 23 May so, yes, it’s a digital copy by the sounds of it.
The terms and conditions confirm that the offer is available worldwide.
Of course, there’s no point splashing the cash on a laptop if you just want a copy of Crimson Desert but I’m sure there’s plenty of people out there who will benefit from this offer.
Let’s hope Pearl Abyss’ long-awaited release lives up to the hype it has generated.
