Disturbing 'Elden Ring' Detail Confirms Where All The Children Have Gone

Okay, now I feel bad...

Ready to feel bad? It turns out that one of the groups of enemies you merrily hack your way through in Elden Ring are actually dead children. Oof.

Plenty of Elden Ring bosses and enemies have their own tragic backstories, which isn't hugely surprising. This is a FromSoftware game, after all. But this latest discovery? This one is a real bummer.

Take a look at some of the best Elden Ring wins and fails below!

As pointed out over on Reddit (via GamesRadar), the Jellyfish in Elden Ring are the trapped spirits of dead children. As I'm sure you'll know because this game's lore is super easy to follow, the destruction of the Elden Ring throws the cycle of birth and death into complete chaos. As a result, people are unable to pass on to the afterlife as intended.

And the children? For some reason, they turn into jellyfish. Why jellyfish, exactly? That's a question for a five hour Elden Ring lore deep dive on YouTube, I'm afraid.

A few players have stumbled onto this disturbing fact via a brief sidequest involving the Jellyfish Spirit Summon. The summon players can take into battle is called Aurelia, and one player actually managed to find their grave (alongside Aureliette's) in the Mountaintop Cemetery. So far so depressing.

It turns out Aureliette's spirit is waiting for Aurelia at the Stargazers' Ruins, just north of Freezing Lake. She mentions that Aurelia promised they'd go to see the stars when they turned 14, implying that they were barely teenagers when they died.

To reunite the two, you need to summon your own jellyfish NPC while stood in front of Aureliette, at which point the two of them will disappear together. Presumably to go see those stars at long last.

TLDR: you've been killing kids in Elden Ring, and you need to go ask the turtle pope for forgiveness immediately.
