'Elden Ring' Has Been Platinumed By Way More Players Than You'd Think

Okay, we're impressed

Getting a Platinum Trophy in a PlayStation game is no easy task most of the time.

Earning the coveted PlayStation Platinum prize requires you to earn every last Trophy in a game, which usually means you will have had to beat the game multiple times and have bested every last challenge the developers could think of. It is the ultimate marker that you have well and truly finished a game.

Some games are genuinely quite entertaining to Platinum. Titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart don't really ask for much, and are more a test of patience as you explore the world and hunt for collectables.

Other games, such as anything made by FromSoftware, are less forgiving. The likes of Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 ask players to fully upgrade weapons, hunt down every last secret, and conquer the game's final bosses more than once. Elden Ring is no different. And yet, it's a game with a surprisingly high Platinum completion rate.

As pointed out by Push Square, an incredible 7.9% of Elden Ring players have completely 100% beaten the game and earned the Platinum. While that doesn't sound like a particularly huge number, it's actually one of the highest percentages for a AAA game on PlayStation.

For comparison's sake, Ghost Of Tsushima is much higher with 13.6%, but Elden Ring has far outpaced God Of War's 4.7%, which is really shocking. It's also the most-Platinumed FromSoftware game by far, beating Dark Souls 3 (5.3%) and Bloodborne (6.5%).

Interestingly, PlayStation seems to be home to the most Elden Ring completionists. Just 0.63% of Xbox players have earned all Achievements, while 3.2% have done it all on Steam.

Given the incredible size and difficulty of Elden Ring, I'm genuinely surprised and impressed at just how high that completion rate is. Clearly once Elden Ring gets its teeth in you, it's tough to get away.
