Elden Ring’s new first-person mode is a game-changer and feels like a whole new game.

Released in February 2022, Elden Ring quickly became yet another FromSoftware masterpiece following in the footsteps of Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Elden Ring is also one of the most accessible titles by FromSoftware, offering the steepest of challenges for Soulsborne veterans, while easing new players into the gruelling, yet enticing world of the Lands Between free to explore as you please.

Take a look at this epic Elden Ring boss battle royale below.

Yet a year after it's been released, if you thought you’ve experienced everything that Elden Ring has to offer, think again. As reported by DSOgaming, talented modders have given the Lands Between a new lease of life thanks to an awesome first-person mode. The mod in question is called ‘First Person Souls’ and has been created by NexusMods user Dasaav. The three-minute gameplay trailer showcases Elden Ring in a totally new way and is very reminiscent of FromSoftware’s early series on the PS1, King’s Field.

It’s unlikely that Elden Ring would get an official first-person update, so this pretty much rules out console players. However, if you play Elden Ring on PC, this mod looks like an absolute must.

In related Elden Ring news, back in December 2022, FromSoftware released a free PvP multiplayer update. So if getting humiliated by NPCs wasn't bad enough, you can now challenge real-world players in a colosseum area to feel victimised on a whole new level.

What’s more, earlier this year, FromSoftware announced the ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ expansion and players are speculating whether it will introduce a new Malenia, Blade of Miquella boss fight. Yay!

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
