Did you tune into last night’s The Game Awards? I certainly did so yes, you’re correct. I am so very sleepy, but here I am ready to inform you about The First Berserker: Khazan - a game that looks perfect for fans of Elden Ring and Sekiro.

It was a night packed with reveals. For an awards show, frontman Geoff Keighley sure did treat those awards like a mild annoyance before we reverted back to more reveals, but it’s what we’ve come to expect from The Game Awards. God of War Ragnarök Valhalla was announced - a free DLC that’s set to land next week - plus Arkane Lyon unveiled that they’re working on Marvel’s Blade, a new third-person title centred around the iconic Marvel character. Rise of the Ronin got a release date, plus No Man’s Sky devs unveiled a new Earth-sized game. Jurassic Park: Survival is another one of the announced titles, as was The First Berserker: Khazan.

Take a look at The First Berserker: Khazan in action below.

Developed by Neople and set to be published by NEXON, The First Berserker: Khazan describes itself as a “hardcore” action RPG. The synopsis reads, “The player will become Khazan, the great general of the Pelos empire, whom overcame death, and sets out to reveal the incidents that led to his downfall and seek vengeance on his enemies.” Set in the Dungeon & Fighter universe, the game effortlessly blends a typical souls style with anime-inspired graphics, seamlessly morphing between the two in a way unlike anything we’ve really ever seen.

With Sekiro and Dark Souls serving as inspirations, it’s no secret that The First Berserker: Khazan places a huge emphasis on combat which has a hack n’ slash feel about it. Throughout the game, you’ll unsurprisingly have the opportunity to upgrade your gear and stats - something I’m sure will prove to be crucial when you reach those top bosses.

The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox series X/S, and PC although we don’t yet have a release window. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
