Elden Ring fans warned to adjust one stat ahead of DLC next month

Elden Ring fans warned to adjust one stat ahead of DLC next month

Elden Ring players should prep this stat before the DLC launches

A veteran Elden Ring player has spoken on what they believe the stat is that everyone should focus on before the DLC drops next month.

As Millions of players gird themselves and prepare to die in Shadow of the Erdtree, there is one stat that every player should level up first.

Shadow of the Erdtree is the only DLC scheduled for Elden Ring and it will expand the story on 21 June

Your ‘vigor’ stat defines how much health you have in Elden Ring - a valuable commodity in a game that beats you to death at every opportunity.

Increasing your vigor stat to level 60 will take you to the soft level cap for your health pool and allow you to take more damage in fights, and generally last longer against the bosses.

Having level 60 vigor not only increases the health point total, but it provides better protection against ailments such as poison and scarlet rot, plus you’ll find a boost to defence against fire attacks - something that the DLC seems to be full of.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Here&#39;s a direct quote from the Elden Ring guide I was contracted to produce that was vetted by From Software.<br><br>&quot;Vigor is one of the most important stats to level early on, since it’s critical to your chances of surviving.&quot; <a href="https://t.co/WJGps3azw7">https://t.co/WJGps3azw7</a></p>&mdash; FightinCowboy (@Fightincowboy) <a href="https://twitter.com/Fightincowboy/status/1794798859899863344?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 26, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Putting everything you have into this stat will see you survive for longer, but it seems obvious to say, don’t get complacent, the bosses are still nasty.

You can bolster this stat even further using equipment found in The Lands Between, such as the Crimson Amber Medallion +2, which will increase your defence and health even further.

Finding the right balance for your character build is vital to surviving Elden Ring and for the opening ten hours you’ll likely want to spread your XP out a bit, but after that concentrate on vigor until it’s at the level cap.

From this point focus on what your build needs, for example a good intelligence stat for mages, or dexterity for agile warriors.

Shadow of the Erdtree will be released 21 June and it will take players into the biggest DLC package Fromsoft has ever created.
