When is EA Sports FC 27 out? 2026 release date, price, early access and more

The latest entry in Electronic Arts’ EA Sports FC series, once commonly known as FIFA, arrives later this year and here, we’ll let you know its release date, how much it will cost and how you can play it early.

Long before it was called EA Sports FC, a change that came into effect in 2023, after Electronic Arts realised that it didn't need to pay FIFA millions of dollars to carry the license name, the “FIFA” series was no more with the release of EA Sports FC 24.

Though in truth, most of us still probably refer to it as its old, more common name. You can take FIFA out of the name, but you can’t take FIFA out of the game. After all, it carried that licensed name for 19 years, running from 1993 to 2022. That all being said, let’s get to all the ‘need to know’ juicy details regarding EA Sports FC 27.

When is EA Sports FC 27 out and on what platforms?

EA Sports FC 27 has a release date of September 25 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

It’s worth noting that the new mode in EA Sports FC 27, ‘The Grounds’, is not available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, so it might be worth keeping that in mind if you’re interested in that particular mode.

How much will EA Sports FC 27 cost?

That depends on the version you decide to pick up. Here is a breakdown of the prices for each version:

• EA Sports FC 27 Standard Edition - £69.99/$69.99
• EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Edition - £99.99/$99.99
• EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Edition Plus - £139.99/$149.99

What’s the new age rating of EA Sports FC 27?

EA Sports FC 27 will carry a new age rating. EA Sports FC 26 has a PEGI 3 in the UK and the rest of Europe, and an ESRB: Everyone in the United States. However, EA Sports FC 27 is now rated PEGI 16 for the UK and the rest of Europe, while it is expected to carry the same rating in the US, but that may change.

The reason why EA Sports FC 27 carries a higher age rating in the UK and Europe is not due to graphic violence or scenes of a sexual nature, but rather it's the beginning of PEGI’s updated rules that classify look box/purchasable random items (i.e, mechanics featured in FUT Ultimate Team) that reflect gambling elements.

Will EA Sports FC 27 have early access?

Yes, there is more than one way to gain early access to EA Sports FC 27. The first method is by purchasing either the Ultimate Edition or the Ultimate Edition Plus. If you pre-order either edition, your release date will be up to a week early on September 18, instead of September 25, 2026.

You can also gain early access by subscribing to EA Play. However, this will be limited to a 10-hour trial. If you do decide to purchase the full game after the trial ends, all your progress will carry over. Being a subscriber to EA Play will also bag you a 10% discount off the full price, as well as the in-game FC Points currency.
