'Dying Light 2' Is Getting Five Years Of Free And Paid DLC

That's dead-ication.

It's a good news day for apocalypse aficionados: Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be benefitting from five years of free and paid content additions after its release.

This is the same approach that studio Techland took to supporting the original game, from weapon bundles to vehicles to new arcade-inspired game modes, though the most notable expansion for the game is The Following. Taking players to an unseen area outside of Harran, Kyle Crane discovered the Children of the Sun cult who worship a figure called the Mother who protects them from becoming infected. The DLC received rave reviews when it released so if there's anything on the scale of The Following in store for Dying Light 2, then players have a lot to look forward to.

Here's some gameplay of Dying Light 2, covering the story, setting, mechanics and more!

Dying Light 2 is set 20 years after the events of Dying Light and centres on a new hero. Aiden Caldwell is infected with the virus, yet maintains his humanity and roams what's left of the world with his group, the Pilgrims. Unfortunately, Aiden cannot remember much of his early life, only that he has a sister named Mia. He enters the City in order to find her and Techland has assured that Aiden's effect on the final outpost of humanity against the infected will be tangible and visible based on the story choices the player makes.

If you want to know the world of Dying Light 2 like the back of your hand, then be prepared to sink hundreds and hundreds of hours into the game. "500 hours is related to maxing out the game - finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world," said the studio in response to questions about the game's length. "But a regular player should finish the story and side quests, and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don't worry!"

No matter how you like to play, there is going to be a lot to savour and sink your teeth into even when you've completed the game. "We guarantee to expand the world of Dying Light 2: Stay Human for at least five years post-launch with new stories, locations, in-game events, and all the fun stuff you love!" said the studio in the announcement sent out on Twitter.

Dying Light 2 arrives on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on February 4th, 2022.
