A new Cyberpunk 2077 game is here, and it looks to expand on the chaotic gunfights from the base game, bringing a unique interaction between the player and the goings-on in Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars is an arcade game, housed in a massive cabinet, with light gun technology to test your gun skills.

I appreciate that less than 1% of the gaming community will ever get a chance to play this game, but it looks brilliant and if you’re anywhere near an arcade or gaming centre, it’s worth checking if they’ll be stocking the cabinet.

Cyberpunk 2077 is expanding into arcades courtesy of Lai Games, who have taken over development duties from CD Projekt Red, on this new iteration in the franchise.

It’s described by the developers as offering “three modes—Story, Co-Op/Versus, and Sniper Mode—players can tackle missions, team up, or test their precision.”

Players will be able to attack heists, and survive in a world of corruption through the story mode, where progress can be saved to physical cards.

There are no details on how much the cabinet will cost, or what players will pay to play, but I can’t imagine it will be cheap.

For your spare change, you will be “taking down crime lords, infiltrating corporate strongholds, and surviving relentless street battles.”

This is before taking into account the multiplayer aspects, and the sniper challenges also available.

Over on Reddit, one fan says, “I will totally waste money on that if it comes to one of the local arcades.”

It actually sounds great, but as with any arcade cabinet, the difficulty will come from tracking one down.

In the UK, arcades are shying away from big expensive games like these in favour of gambling machines, so it may end up being impossible to try Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars.
