Polish publisher CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077 far exceeds the world of video games crossing over into the realms of anime, novels, tabletop gaming and much more. However, fans of the sci-fi RPG are in for an extra treat with this free expansion available now.

It’s fair to say that when Cyberpunk 2077 was initially launched in 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it didn't go swimmingly for developer CD Projekt RED. While it seems, for the most part, PC gamers had the quality of game they hoped for, it was far less joyous for console gamers. In a nutshell, Cyberpunk 2077 was simply too much for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to handle.

Thankfully, following a series of stability and quality-of-life updates, as well as a wealth of new and improved content, Cyberpunk 2077 finally became the game it promised to be, especially with its new-gen launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. What’s more, following the eventual success of Cyberpunk 2077, the sci-fi RPG was made even better with the release of its expansion, Phantom Liberty and fans are now even more hyped for its sequel.

In our review of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, GAMINGbible’s Ewan Moore said: “I really can’t say enough good things about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. It fills me with joy to be able to report that this is a deeply ambitious expansion that fires on all cylinders and never delivers anything less than a stellar experience. CD Projekt RED is walking away from Cyberpunk 2077 in the best possible way, delivering on the game’s immense potential and dropping one final, unforgettable adventure.”

Today, Cyberpunk 2077 fans can get an expansion of a different variety for the RPG, Cyberpunk RED. As reported by Dicebreaker, a 20-page free expansion is available to download right now. Developed by R. Talsorian Games, Cyberpunk RED was released in 2020 and in terms of story content, it bridged the gap between the pen-to-paper RPG and its video game counterpart.

“R. Talsorian Games is excited to bring to you our April 2024 DLC, Mixing Drinks-Changing Lives, our crossover with VA-11 HALL-A! From Glitch City to Night City, you’ll find not only the staff finding their own way in the Dark Future, but also the many patrons who frequent Valhalla itself!” reads the description of the expansion.

“You will find familiar faces, from Jill herself all the way to Stella, Sei, Donovan D. Dawson, and many more. The DLC also comes with brand new cyberware & gear of course, but also expanding the lore of a certain corp in Night City, Hammered Industries.”

As for the video game from CD Projekt RED, Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC and modern consoles while the Phantom Liberty expansion is exclusive to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
