Cyberpunk 2077 players might have missed the game warning us about one of its earlier plot twists.

When you first start Cyberpunk 2077 it begins the same way many sci-fi stories begin, with a betrayal.

After a job gone wrong V, the player’s character, is shot in the head by Dex Deshawn, a cowardly move as the character is only doing it to save his own skin.

What many players might have missed but figured out on their second playthrough is the game does in fact warn you about the upcoming betrayal before you start the mission, in two ways.

“Cant believe it took me this long to realise the first meeting with Dex has you literally passing through a suicide door” said Frigid_Metal on Reddit.

For those unaware a suicide door is a door on a car that opens towards the rear of a car rather than the front. Dex picks you up in such a car during your first meeting with him, a subtle nod to the fact that V is signing their own death warrant by working with him.

That’s not all though, as another player pointed out in the comments that “Misty tells you to avoid reds. Dex is wearing a lot of red.”

It’s unknown whether any of this was actually intentional by CD Projekt Red but it’s certainly a coincidence, and the studio is known for putting an absurd amount of detail into its games.

Fans were amazed either way, with one saying “Can't say that's intentional, but if it was, that's pretty neat!” and another adding “That's pretty clever.”

There are plenty of other secrets to find throughout the game’s story and open-world, and with the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 now officially in pre-production one can only imagine what the next game in the series will be like.
