It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
CD Projekt RED has announced the upcoming arrival of yet another Cyberpunk 2077 update, despite claiming that it was done with the game’s development earlier this year.

After the launch of Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.1 Update and Phantom Liberty DLC, CDPR released a statement saying that it had completed development on the hit RPG and was turning its attention to a future sequel.
Although sad news for fans, it made sense and many of us were happy with the success story Cyberpunk 2077 had become after four years.
However, it seems as though this was all an elaborate joke as developers took to social media just yesterday to reveal that yet another update was in the works.
Known as Update 2.2, we will learn more about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 update during an official livestream which airs later today at 5PM CET.
“Join us for a new episode of #REDstreams, where we'll dive deep into the new features Coming Soon for Cyberpunk 2077 in Update 2.2,” the announcement read.
"See you tomorrow at 5 PM CET on our Twitch and, for the first time ever, simultaneously on our YouTube channel. Get ready, chooms! It's gonna be [fire].”
What we do know is that Update 2.0 and 2.1 for Cyberpunk 2077 added heaps of quality of life changes as well as new romance options for V and their chosen partner, a whole new Metro system, and more.
So we can’t even begin to imagine what else has been added to the game to celebrate its four-year anniversary.
In replies following the Twitter announcement, the official Cyberpunk 2077 account shared some interesting details.
Update 2.2 will not include New Game+ and a PlayStation 5 Pro patch but it will add “some cool features” which will all “be worth it”.
For now, that is all we know about this unexpected update but we can expect to hear all about it later today.
