In the lengthy lead up to the launch of Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert, the phrase “too good to be true” was thrown around.
But Crimson Desert has, despite a few minor launch woes, matched the expectations of players.
While its bloated gameplay systems aren’t proving to be for everyone, those who have gelled with what's on offer are delighting in exploring the game’s huge, thriving open-world.
I sense we’ll see a similar trajectory with upcoming RPG Blood Message which may not yet be on your radar.
For those who are in the know, though, they can’t believe their eyes.

“Blood Message is about to be INSANE,” remarked Twitter/X user Joseph_Witty.
Developed by 24 Entertainment Lin’an and published by gaming powerhouse NetEase, Blood Message is a single-player, third-person action-adventure title that’s being created in Unreal Engine 5.
Due to launch across both consoles and PC, although that likely won’t include the Nintendo Switch 2, it sees players step into the shoes of a messenger and his son who are caught up in the Shazhou uprising.

As you’ve likely guessed, the game is set within China. The duo must journey across East and Central Asia in a bid to deliver a message to Chang’an, the capital of the then Tang Empire.
Revealed in 2025, it appears that Blood Message is still relatively early in development, although it’s seemingly in safe hands.
24 Entertainment also developed Naraka: Bladepoint which proved to be a major commercial success despite its mixed review scores.
Given just how early Blood Message is in its development journey, there’s very little else known about it other than the fact that it’ll include both melee combat and stealth gameplay.
In the game’s reveal trailer, you can see both of those fighting styles in action.
The trailer features very detailed, crisp graphics so, of course, gamers will be hoping those will be matched in the final release.
We see the central messenger character sword fighting in a desert, riding a horse through a thick sandstorm, exploring a bustling city location, grappling through a canyon, and sneaking up on guards.
There’s definitely an easy Crimson Desert comparison to be made here, although the gameplay has an Assassin’s Creed flavouring to it.
The East Asian setting should also appease Ghost of Yōtei fans, although we’re shifting from Japan to China here to state the obvious.
“Now this is what we wanted from Crimson Desert,” remarked one trailer viewer.
“This gameplay looks like Ghost of Tsushima. That’s a good thing. My PC won’t be able to handle though,” added another.
“This is how AC series supposed to be with current technology,” one gamer said, while someone added, “Game of the year. None of that soulslike bulls**t.”
For the record, we adore soulslikes here at GAMINGbible, but each to their own.
Again, Blood Message perhaps remains several years off, but we’ll be keeping a very keen eye on its progress.
