Call Of Duty: Warzone is officially being renamed, Activision has confirmed.
With Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 set to launch around the world on 16 November, Raven Software has revealed that it will be taking the original game offline for 12 days. This is so the team can put all its focus on ensuring that Warzone 2.0 actually works as intended when it releases.
Take a look at Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 in action below!
The Call Of Duty: Warzone we all know and love will be taken offline on 16 November, and will be playable once more on November 28. That's the general idea, at least. I would imagine it depends how much Raven Software needs to focus on Warzone 2.0's crucial opening weeks.

While it's great to hear Warzone isn't being taken down forever, it will be coming back with a new name. Once Warzone 2.0 launches, the original game will be relaunched as Warzone: Caldera. In other words, the original game will remain a nice and easy option for anyone looking to take a break from Warzone 2.0's new Al Mazrah map.
Unfortunately, because Warzone: Caldera is being treated as its own game, this does mean that all the cosmetics and other goodies you've earned while playing will not be carried over into Warzone 2.0. New game, clean slate, brand-new battle pass to grind out. Whether or not you see that as a good thing depends entirely on how much time and energy you invested in the first game I suppose.
In other Call Of Duty news, fans are currently deeply divided (as always) over the new game's upcoming DMZ mode. This brand-new mode is an open-world extraction romp that's been inspired by Escape From Tarkov. Unfortunately, not everyone is totally enthused by its inclusion. Go figure.
