Brie Larson stars in Gears Of War Netflix teaser concept

Everyone’s wondering just who is going to star in the upcoming Gears of War movie, and it sounds like one familiar face from the MCU could be making an appearance.

In case you missed it, last year, it was confirmed that a Gears of War film is in development for Netflix, as well as an adult animated show. The game franchise's devs, The Coalition, are working on both projects so hopefully, they’ll stay true to the source material. Although castings haven’t been announced yet, both fans of the series and the series creator himself have made it very clear that they want Dave Bautista to take on the lead role of Marcus Fenix in the film. I mean, come on, it’s an obvious choice.

Now though, Giant Freakin Robot reports that none other than Captain Marvel star Brie Larson could be in talks for the movie. That’s according to their own sources, and the information hasn’t been officially confirmed at the time of writing.

In case you wanted an idea of what she might look like in the role, behold - Larson fully suited up and ready for action. Don’t get it twisted, this isn’t official concept art - Giant Freakin Robot shared it to help us imagine what we could be seeing in the future. As noted in their report, Larson is a big fan of a number of video games, including Fall Guys and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and has previously stated that she’d love to play Samus in a Metroid movie. And honestly? I think she’d be perfect for that role.

Admittedly, she’s not spoken about the Gears of War franchise in the past, but the concept art proves that she’d fit right in. Could we be in for a Larson and Bautista team-up? We’ll just have to wait and see.
