We now know exactly how much Battlefield 6 is going to cost at launch, and fans are baffled by Electronic Arts’ decision.
So many details about Battlefield 6 have already leaked that it’s a wonder EA haven’t just announced half of this info themselves to get in front of things.
As of now, we know the game’s release date (October 10th), what its box art is going to look like, and how many players EA expects the game to pull in (spoiler alert: it’s several million more than they should be expecting).
Well, the leaks just keep coming, because the launch price of the upcoming title has been data-mined by the notoriously accurate billbil-kun (via a report from Insider Gaming).

It’s partially leaked, anyway, because all we know at the moment is its price in Euros; €80.
Over on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, fans are mostly just confused with EA’s pricing strategy.
“If this is true, EA has absolutely lost their minds…” commented user MuptonBossman.
“The fact that they're expecting 100 million players while charging full price is just setting this game up to fail.”

“I get it, companies wanna make all the money they can but in Battlefields case they should really have went with a lower entry point to try and win back the fans they lost,” replied user I_Heart_Sleeping.
“If this was like $50 it would have pulled in so many players. BF fans and even the more causal gamer would have jumped at that price point.”
Now to be fair, 80 Euros won’t necessarily directly translate into a similar price in other regions. There is a good chance that Battlefield 6 will still launch for $70, for example.
However, if EA really does think that this game needs 10 million players to survive, I can’t understand why they’d choose to charge a premium for it in any region.

Guess I’ll just wait until it’s on sale in a few years.
