Marvel and DC have just announced that they’re teaming up to produce a brand new crossover, featuring Batman and Deadpool! Incredible news, right?
Well, no, according to the fans… because of the one of the people attached to work on the project.
As revealed on the official Marvel Comics website, two new crossover series featuring Batman and Deadpool will be coming our way before the end of the year.

The first of the two, published by Marvel, is titled Deadpool/Batman, with issue 1# slated for release this September.
The second project will be titled Batman/Deadpool and is set to be published by DC, and it’ll release the month after Marvel’s first issue.
This all sounds pretty cool to me so… why do comic book fans hate it already?
That’s because Marvel’s Deadpool and Batman crossover is being written by Zeb Wells, the writer behind one of the worst Spider-Man stories… ever. Honestly it might be one of the worst comic book runs ever.

“The first DC Marvel crossover in 22 years and they pick Zeb Wells as one of the people to do it,” commented user MagazineInfamous6142. “You can't make this s**t up lol.”
“Those creative teams are something,” replied user RomulanTreachery.
“DC came out swinging while Marvel tripped out of the gate. And this would be the reveal of Grant's new Batman project they mentioned a month or so ago.”
On the plus side, as that last comment notes, the DC published series sounds a hell of a lot better, because it’s being written by none other than Grant Morrison.

In case you’re unaware of Morrison’s work, they’re the genius behind bangers such as Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, All Star Superman, We3, The Doom Patrol… the list goes on (for quite a while).
Absolutely no idea why Marvel chose to bring one of their most hated writers in on the most hype crossover in recent memory but, hey, what do I know?
