‘Assassin's Creed Origins’ Is Free On Xbox Very Soon

Xbox have just confirmed next month's lineup of Game Pass titles, and one of them is a fan-favourite Assassin's Creed game.

It’s the last day of the month, and you know what that means. It’s monthly subscription service “free” game announcement season, baby! Man, that does not roll off the tongue.

While PlayStation Plus’ June picks haven’t been officially unveiled yet, it was reported yesterday that subscribers could be getting Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and God of War, which makes for a very eclectic (and rather baffling) selection - do take that with a pinch of salt until they’re officially confirmed, mind you. Meanwhile though, Xbox have just revealed the lineup of titles coming to Game Pass next month in an Xbox Wire blog post, and there’s one particular title that’s definitely going to have a lot of people excited.

While you're here, be sure to take a look at the amazing evolution of the Assassin's Creed series in the video below.

You’ve already read it in the headline, but try to be surprised anyway, okay? It’s Assassin’s Creed Origins - the 10th main game in the series, set in Ancient Egypt. Believe it or not, this is the first Assassin’s Creed title to hit Game Pass. If you’ve not played it before, definitely take this as your opportunity to do so - behind the scenes, GAMINGbible’s Imogen advises that it’s “very good”, which is frankly all the reasoning I think anyone needs to give it a go.

To be fair, we did know this one was coming - last month, it was confirmed by Xbox that both Origins and For Honor: Marching Fire Edition would release on Game Pass at some point this year, and here they both are. The For Honor expansion will be available to play on cloud, console and PC as of tomorrow (1 June), shortly followed by Assassin’s Creed Origins (also on cloud, console and PC) on 7 June.

As for the rest of the Game Pass pickings for next month, the two other titles coming to cloud, console and PC are Chorus and Disc Room on 7 June, and Spacelines from the Far Out will be available as a day-one release on the same day on console and PC. Available before those though is Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, which you can nab on console and PC on 2 June.

Exciting, right? Be sure to grab these titles as soon as you can in the coming days.
