There’s a soft spot in the hearts of Assassin’s Cred fans for the Egyptian adventure, Assassin’s Creed Origins, not only because of the brilliant central character Bayek, but because of the stunning backdrops.
There was a certain style from Ubisoft with Assassin’s Creed Origins, the visuals were designed to be more cinematic, with darker shadows, bolder colours, and atmosphere that captivated players.
Well, it seems that style is making a comeback, along with the visual flair of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Ubisoft is making some big changes to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, with an update coming soon that introduces visual filters to the game.

You can catch a glimpse of these yourself over on Twitter, where the filters are shown side-by-side.
Though they’re just prototype images, it’s clear the style they’re aiming for with the two, particularly the Origins filter, which adds much more depth to the lighting system.
The update will arrive 18 November, in line with the new DLC story for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Landing as a free DLC update, Valley of Memory will bring six hours of story for fans to play through, along with the aforementioned filters.
Players will be able to seek out Basim’s father, with events taking place before the finale of the main game, but taking us to a new area based in Saudi Arabia.
It’s not all about story, though, as new parkour mechanics are being introduced, as well as the ability to jump, bringing more versatility to the movement of Basim.
These are all perfect excuses to jump back into the game, particularly if you’ve not revisited it since launch, as much has changed.
Not only can you experience new story beats, but you’ll be able to do so with visual flair that suits your tastes, much as we’ve seen with director options in games like Ghost of Yotei.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was already a great experience, one that trimmed down on the expansive worlds of the ‘RPG trilogy.’
With Ubisoft returning to the game, and bringing new additions two years after release, it’s a good time to be a fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Let’s hope this direction is pointed at other games in the series, bringing a fresh coat of paint to the entries we love, and perhaps also lead us into the remakes that have been rumoured for so long.
