The First Descendant is releasing in 2024 and it seems to be channeling several games into it's weird sci-fi parkour action. There are inspirations coming from all over the place to make up this glorious looking shooter.

There's a hint of Mass Effect in its sci-fi wonder; plenty of Assassin's Creed seen in the parkour movement; and a dash of Vanquish can be seen in ground movement and bionic suits.

The styling of Mass Effect will always appeal to a wealth of players

"The First Descendant is a free third-person cooperative action RPG shooter featuring high-quality graphics. Experience the fun of strategic boss fights through 4-player co-op and various unique characters, exciting gunplay, and looting." says the Steam page for the game. It also teases huge bosses to fight, along with co-op play for up to four players.

The action in The First Descendant looks bananas, with huge explosions, grappling hooks for movement, along with that parkour skillset that can see you reposition quickly. "Colourful firearms" is definitely an intriguing term which will hopefully lead to lots of different weapons unlocking plenty of tactics to taking on the enemies of the game. "You can equip a character with 3 guns, 4 secondary accessories and various sub-weapons." It sounds like you can be a Swiss Army Knife of weaponry.

More from the Steam page says "A variety of equipment is a necessary element for growth, and you can obtain them through clearing scenario missions within the game, or in the World Missions where cooperation is crucial and battles with huge bosses." Personally, all of this makes me very excited. The trailer really gives off Vanquish vibes and that's a game that has deserved a sequel since it came out in 2007. The First Descendant is shaping up to be one we won't want to miss when it drops next year.
