As we edge closer to the suspected release of Assassin’s Creed Hexe, we’re keen to know all the juicy details, and here, we’ve gathered all the worthwhile information.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe (currently its codename) was announced by Ubisoft during a Ubisoft Forward digital event in September 2022 with a cinematic trailer with no gameplay.
It was basically a stick-made AC logo hanging from a tree. The logo was inspired by something witches may have used to curse or keep something out.
The next instalment in the AC universe will be developed by Ubisoft Montréal, the same team that brought us the likes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, to name a few. Clint Hockling will be its creative director.
When and Where is Assassin’s Creed Hexe Set?
All we know at this time is that it will be set in the 1600s, during the European Witch Trials, orchestrated by the Holy Roman Empire.
Advert
It’s said that around 80,000 people were executed, accused of making deals with the devil. It’s expected to be the darkest Assassin’s Creed game in the series.
Other Assassin’s Creed Hexe Rumours
Rumours have been making the rounds that the main protagonist will be female and her name will be Elsa.
It’s also rumoured that Ezio Auditore’s sister, Claudia, will play some role in its story.
The 16th-century Witch Trials took place between 1560 to 1630. The last time we saw Claudia was in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, set between 1499 to 1507.
She is also thought to have been alive in the follow-up game, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, set between 1511 to 1512. So it’s certainly possible that she may appear in Assassin’s Creed Hexe.
Additionally, a rumoured gameplay mechanic from 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s ‘Jack the Ripper’ DLC will return, or at least, a variant of it. Players are said to be able to strike fear into NPCs in Assassin’s Creed Hexe, I assume, using potions of sorts, similar to the panic bombs.
When Will Assassin’s Creed Hexe Be Released?
At the time of writing, there is no release date, but many suspect that it could be released sometime between 2026 and 2027. I guess only time will tell. If so, it will most likely be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and maybe Nintendo Switch 2.
Hopefully, the Assassin’s Creed series can continue to keep us busy until Assassin’s Creed Hexe finally arrives.
