Assassin’s Creed fans are forever debating the best entries in the series, and usually the three games featuring the assassin Ezio take some of the top spots. They represent the series at its very best, giving us a protagonist who felt well-rounded.

It’s no surprise that Ubisoft would want to revisit Ezio, as well as many other characters and moments from their Assassin’s Creed series. Hot on the heels of a Fallout crossover, Magic the Gathering is now gearing up towards a July release of cards based on the Ubisoft franchise which will feature many of the well-loved assassins.

Many of the Assassin's Creed characters will appear in the Magic the Gathering crossover.

The Magic the Gathering and Assassin’s Creed crossover is due for release on 5 July and will reach us in a number of ways. Collectors and players will be able to explore the crossover via beyond booster packets which contain several cards scaling from common drops to mythic rarity. Or you can opt for the collector boosters which are much more expensive but will feature incredibly rare and valuable cards featuring unique artwork.

For the best value for money, you need look no further than the Assassin’s Creed Bundle which features nine beyond boosters and a spindown life counter, as well as a few extra goodies.

These crossover projects have proved very popular among newcomers as they allow them to learn the tactics and mechanics of Magic the Gathering while still connecting to something they already know and love. Over the past few months, we’ve seen the Fallout crossover, as well as partnerships with Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings, Fortnite, My Little Pony and many more.

As we edge closer to the July release date, we can expect to see some of the card artwork as well as details on the exclusive cards for this expansion set, and any possible mechanics to be introduced.
