It is the end of an era as one beloved ARC Raiders character seemingly gets the chop despite being in the game since its launch.

To celebrate the launch of a brand-new Expedition in ARC Raiders, players have been offered the chance to receive a manual reset, allowing them to journey to a whole new location and start afresh.

However, as with all new starts, that means leaving something behind and in this case, that means Scrappy the Rooster.

With the first Season of hit extraction shooter ARC Raiders now in the not-so-distant past, players can embark on their next journey with a brand-new map, Raiders, and more.

Since ARC Raiders was first launched back in October, players have been ransacking and looting a place known as Speranza. However, throughout a Raider’s journey, they must aim to gather enough equipment and materials in order to embark on their next Expedition and this is where a brand-new season comes in.

The catch is that embarking on a brand-new Expedition will mean that you will need to start afresh with this being developer Embark Studios' way of implementing manual resets.

Now with many players leaving all of their hard-earned earnings behind and setting off to a brand-new location, it is not just materials and resources that will be left on Speranza.

It will also be Scrappy the Rooster, it seems.

We Will Miss You, Scrappy!

In a cutscene showcasing our Raiders saying goodbye to their faithful companion, we also get to see our Season 1 stats but there is no denying that this makes the manual reset all the more painful.

The mechanical rooster has been a constant companion throughout our journey in ARC Raiders, helping players by gathering basic crafting materials and even receiving XP if you successfully extract with your feathered friend at your side.

As a result, players could upgrade Scrappy, allowing him to be much more useful on the field, making him essential in gathering the most materials.

However, it seems as though we have outgrown the need for Scrappy and he has been left behind.

Does this mean that we will receive a new companion? Or will we be left to our own devices? Will we see Scrappy again in the future?

I, for one, hope so but for now, our feathered friend is getting some much-needed rest as Raiders embark on their next major Expedition in ARC Raiders.
