ARC Raiders Patches Key Exploits, But Players Still Have Concerns

Yes, that includes the Stella Montis glitch

Several key ARC Raiders exploits have finally been patched by Embark Studios, and this may come as a relief or a disappointment.

Exploits are, at the end of the day, arguably a form of cheating, but that hasn’t exactly stopped plenty of us from making the most out of several found within ARC Raiders.

If you fall into that category, you may have to change up your tactics as Update 1.12.0 has arrived, and it’s put an end to several glitches that you may be familiar with.

First of all, the update has “fixed an item duplication exploit” and “an ammo duplication exploit” which both relate to players dropping and reclaiming, you guessed it, items and ammo.

By doing so, they were previously able to double up on supplies. Well, even more so if you repeated the exploit.

That’s now been yeeted from the game though, so you’ll have to gather supplies the old fashioned way.

Say Goodbye to That Pesky Stella Montis Exploit

The patch notes further refer to two other fixes.

“Fixed some cases where players were able to damage others from behind geometry,” reads one note, while another adds, “Fixed various out of bounds map locations on Stella Montis”.

I can’t say I’ve heard a ton of case studies pertaining to the first fix there, but it doesn’t sound like that unusual of a fix.

Bullets clipping through scenery items isn’t a new phenomenon, but it's nice to see that issue has been erased.

As for the Stella Montis point, that’s quite an infamous exploit that’s been available in ARC Raiders for some time.

Stella Montis is easily one of the most intense maps you can find within ARC Raiders. Its maze-like structure makes for some wild encounters.

Of course, that experience hasn’t been made any easier by the fact that players have been eliminated there by fellow players hiding in out-of-bounds positions.

Essentially, there are walls in the area which players have been able to glitch through.

From here, they’ve been taking out poor unsuspecting good-natured players who walk past the out-of-bounds folk, completely unaware that they’re in imminent danger.

Personally, I’m glad to see the end of the glitch.

It’s interesting though that the patch notes say “various out of bounds map locations”, prompting you to wonder whether some remain. Surely they’d say “all” if that was the case?

I’ll also point out that only “some cases” of the former damage fix were applied, so that’s also an issue we should expect to persist.

Update 1.12.0 is now readily available, so just make sure your client is up to date.

For the sneaky players amongst you, it may be time to cook up some new tactics. For those who play by the book, sleep easy knowing your opponents are going to have a much tougher time playing dirty.
