Resident Evil Requiem takes us back to Raccoon City, 30 years after the T-Virus outbreak. We play as the returning, and now seasoned veteran, Leon S. Kennedy, as well as the series newbie, Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alessia Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak.
In Resident Evil Requiem, Raccoon City is a very different place, and Leon is now facing even more deadly threats, but nothing our beloved former RPD cop isn't used to. As for Grace, being thrown into the deep end is quite the understatement for this budding but young FBI agent. The Resident Evil series is one of the most iconic in the video game industry, and 2025’s Requiem serves as one of its best offerings.

2024’s Silent Hill 2 is a full remake from the ground up of the legendary Konami horror originally released in 2001. In this full-blown remake developed by Bloober Team, we get a new perspective of James Sunderland returning to his and his wife’s special place, the foggy town of Silent Hill. Oh, and I forgot to mention that James is only there because he’s received a letter from his dead wife!
The original Silent Hill 2 is a pure masterpiece, and whether you’re a returning fan or totally new, you need to play this fantastic remake that more than does the OG justice. Just make sure you have a sofa to hide behind, just in case.

The second remake on this list is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, a full, modernised remake of the iconic Square Enix RPG that was originally released in 1997 on PlayStation. While the original features a traditional turn-based RPG combat mechanic, the 2020 remake is more of a hybrid in this respect, blending real-time and turn-based.
While this approach to combat was controversial to old-school purists, it also meant that it was an ideal compromise for those who may not be fans of the old system. Either way, this remake of Final Fantasy VII is amazing and should not be skipped if you’ve ever been tempted by it. Plus, this version of the game includes the all-new chapter starring the fan-favourite, Yuffie.

Call of Duty’s most fierce rival, Battlefield, released its latest entry in the series in 2025, and it's arguably one of the best we’ve had from the franchise. It has a Hollywood blockbuster-esque, single-player campaign and such a deep multiplayer offering that Battlefield 6 could keep you entertained for years to come.
Let’s not forget the incredibly destructible environments that add an extra layer of immersion that only this series knows how to deliver. However, while it’s fun blowing up everything for the sake of it, especially when playing online, it can offer a huge tactical advantage. For example, if a pesky sniper player is hiding in a building picking everyone off, you can just point an RPG at the sniper and bring his high-perched hiding spot crumbling to the ground.
